PQR is essentially the 'real' method used to create and test resources to ensure that they meet all applicable requirements.
The test procedures and final results are documented in the PQR. If the PQR meets the established standards of the welding world, it will serve as the basis on which one or more WPS are designed.
Although a PQR eventually leads to a WPS, it is important for welders to have information about both documents. In critical applications and mechanized and automated welds, welders can apply the PQR and copy the actual values used in the test weld, this eliminates all variation.
