It is an official document showing who owns the invention or the right to use it, in order to encourage invention, to encourage innovations and creative ideas, and to ensure the application of technical solutions obtained by inventions in the industry.
A patent provides 20-year protection to the rightholder for one time from the moment of registration. There is no chance that this period will be extended. A patent that expires costs the public and becomes available to anyone who wants to use it. Patents can be sold like other products or services, they can be rented to others through licensing, they can be passed on to other generations through inheritance.
